This course provides foundational knowledge in primary care of acute and common conditions for the advanced practice nurse. Emphasis is placed on gaining knowledge to prevent, diagnose, and manage common health problems. The use of clinical reasoning, evidence- based clinical practice guidelines, research, and differential diagnosis skills, will prepare the student to evaluate and treat populations across the lifespan. Treatment plans designed with awareness of population focused health disparities, cultural influences, and patient centered care will be explored.
