NURS 7004 - Healthcare Informatics Unit(s): 2
This course offers the graduate student an opportunity for exploration and application of health information systems, technologies and data science as transformational tools to improve individual and organizational outcomes in patients and populations. Students will expand their understanding beyond the issues of patient privacy and security to analyze the impact of electronic health information and data systems to optimize the delivery, quality and safety of healthcare across settings. Emphasis will be placed on the graduate nurse leader’s role as a participant in and leader of interprofessional teams engaged in information policy, clinical systems design/redesign, and implementation of current and emerging health information technologies.
