NURS 768 - Appl Psycho Treatment Plan Unit(s): 3
This course develops applied assessment and management skills in the treatment planning of psychotherapies used across the lifespan with an emphasis on psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) application in the clinical setting. The PMHNP psychotherapist demonstrates evidence based treatment planning skill across the lifespan for the individual, couple, family and small group interventions. Neurobiological and psychosocial models will be analyzed and applied to the assessment and management of behavioral health disorders. The child, adult, and older adult will be examined in terms of their need for health promotion, treatment, or maintenance of physiological disorders and/or acute and chronic mental disorders. Research and epidemiological data will be employed to formulate outcome-based practice. Evidence based research finding will be used to formulate outcome-based practice. Pre-requisites: NURS 706, NURS 707, NURS 7210, NURS 7220.
