LAW 736 - Employment Discrimination

A survey of federal law prohibitions against, and remedies for, employment discrimination, including discrimination on the basis of race, nationalorigin, sex, age, and disability. The principalfocus is on Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act, but California law is also discussed. Among the issues covered are: the nature and proof of discrimination, justifications for discrimination, harassment as discrimination, the “reasonable accommodation requirement, and innovative approaches in the field.
