ENVS 330 - Envir and Ecosystem Health Unit(s): 4
This course explores how poisons in the environment impact both people and ecosystems. The basic principles of toxicology and epidemiology are introduced to lay the groundwork for evaluating hazards, exposure, and risk. These principles are applied through reading and analyzing the scientific literature. Students also study the spread of disease, heavy metals, pesticides, endocrine disruptors, and other emerging organic contaminants.
Prerequisite: CHEM 111 or ENVS 212 College of Arts and Sciences
