Unit(s): 1

In this course, designed for students who are planning to apply to medical school in the coming admissions cycle, students learn to craft a compelling and thorough medical school application by engaging in weekly readings, hearing from guest speakers and alumni panels and drafting personal statements and other writing samples. The small-group format allows for significant peer-to-peer interaction and opportunity for feedback. Aspects of the medical school school application process covered include: timelines and rolling admissions; the common application systems of AACOMAS/AMCAS; strategies for letters of recommendation; personal statement and other application writing portions; factors influencing school selection and where to apply; interview preparation; gap year planning.
