PSYD 797E - Summer Practicum

This course, designed to support students in clinical placements during the summer semester. This course is a progression of the summer practicum course series and includes group consultation with peers and instructor regarding clinical work and continued didactic training in applications of advanced culturally sensitive case conceptualization and treatment planning skills within specific theoretical approaches established during previous years of practicum courses and clinical placements. During the first half of the summer, content emphasizes applications, within specialized theoretical orientations, of evidence-based practices for culturally sensitive treatment termination and, during the second half of the summer, advanced applications of evidence-based practices for effective and culturally sensitive treatment beginnings. Professional development topics continue the focus of advanced practicum training on the transition to internship training, and planning for post-doctoral training, licensure, and career advancement.
