NURS 7220 - Advanced Physical Assess & Health Prom APRN Prac

This course provides foundational knowledge in advanced physical assessment and health promotion across the lifespan for the advanced practice nurse. Emphasis is placed on techniques of history taking and advanced assessment skills utilized by the advanced practice nurse. Students learn to construct evidence-based differential diagnoses for patients across the lifespan and provide appropriate health promotion guidance. The use of clinical reasoning, evidence- based clinical practice guidelines, research, and differential diagnosis skills will prepare the student to evaluate and treat populations across the life span. Health promotion management plans designed with awareness of population focused health disparities, cultural influences, and patient centered care will be explored.

Pre-requisites: NURS 706, NURS 707, NURS 7100.
