NURS 7006 - Policy & Ethics in Pop Health

This course focuses on development of the scholarly nursing and interprofessional roles in health care planning, policy, ethics, and responsibility for patient outcomes. Course content includes the critical analysis of bioethical issues in the delivery of population health care services. Concepts that support advocating for social justice, reducing healthcare disparities, improving quality, promoting ethical aspects of care, and cost containment are overarching themes in the course discussions and assignments. Students use self-reflection, case studies and presentations to apply ethical principles, develop healthcare policy recommendation to improve care access, and reduce disparities in professional practice and population health.
